Herther

A space made for living.

The importance of comfort, an appreciation for history and a love of travel become apparent within this eclectic, bohemian-style apartment, designed by Stephanie Herther. Large windows and richly colored woodwork (offered by an older building) create a feeling of energy and earthy warmth. Her décor makes for a home centered in purposeful living, and space that is conducive to the simple activities she loves. Stephanie carefully selects the items she uses to fill her space, based on their purpose or meaning. “I often referred to my living room as The Museum because there are quite a few items on the wall and most of my knick-knacks have a story.” The green coffee table that Stephanie used for writing poetry and sparking up good conversation was a gift that once belonged to her father. Stephanie strives for a life void of unnecessary distraction. “This is the first television I had in my house in 6 years. I did not have cable and only used it for movies from the public library.”

“I think that what you own should have a story. otherwise it is just seems like stuff.”
