The expansion has allowed the club to add two more pool tables.

The Aberdeen Cue Club has recently finished some exciting renovations, including an expansion.

The project began in March and was completed at the end of June. Some of the building’s interior walls were removed in order to provide more room for an additional pool table. The club now has six pool tables available for patrons.

One of the challenges that the club faced was providing ample room for players and spectators alike.

“During league season last year, we had up to four matches running at a time,” President Charlie Gould said. “We can have even more players with six tables.”

In addition to more playing space, the club also improved its snack bar setup and added more seating around the building.

The Aberdeen Cue Club began in 2012 with just three tables. Many bars in the area have pool tables, but some of the founding members were looking for a change of pace.

“The club was started by a group of people that wanted access to quality equipment and an environment that suited them,” Gould said. “It’s a nice atmosphere. It’s quieter than a bar, but it’s still a fun-filled place.”

Since the club has a beer license, members are required to be 21 or older. Children are able to play if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The club hosts four league sessions each year, including a youth league. The junior players will be competing in the Valley National 8-Ball League Association Junior Championships in South Sioux City, Nebraska. //
