This recipe is a crowd favorite. I first stumbled on a version of this recipe several years ago and since tinkered with it to get what I make now. It’s an easy dish to make since it just has to sit in a slow cooker, and most of the work happens before and after. I bring it to family gatherings, holiday parties, and when I find myself with lots of chicken!

Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Legs
Ingredients
- 4 lbs about 12-13 chicken legs
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 c BBQ sauce
- 1 20 fl oz root beer
- BBQ sauce to taste
- ¼ c brown sugar to taste
Instructions
- In a 6-quart slow cooker, spray the inside with cooking spray or use a plastic liner. Season your chicken with salt and pepper and add to the slow cooker.

- Pour the root beer in. It should cover most, if not all the chicken in the slow cooker. Add BBQ sauce on top, cover, and cook on low for about 4 hours.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove chicken from slow cooker and place on baking sheet. Drizzle or brush more BBQ sauce on the chicken, flip, and repeat.

- Sprinkle the top of the chicken with brown sugar, and broil in the oven for about 10 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
