ACT and Hardly Working Promotions present “Triple Bypass,” a one-day, special matinee performance, March 13th at 2:30pm at the Capitol Theatre, 415 S. Main Street. Scripted by local playwright Deena Ronayne, “Triple Bypass” is comprised of three 10-minute plays about living for death, and dying for life.
Seating for this special production is by general admission. Tickets are $12 in advance and $16 at the door, available starting at 10:00am Tuesday, March 1st. Patrons may purchase tickets online at AberdeenCommunityTheatre.com, in person at Riddle’s Jewelry, or by phone at (605) 225-2228.
Originally written for online festivals in 2021, the award-winning trilogy includes a drama, a “fan fiction,” and a comedy. Together, the three pieces take audiences on a wide-ranging emotional journey ranging from fear and hate (“Seeking Dignity”), to empathy and compassion (“Fade To Black”), and delight and hilarity (“Tango-ed Web”).
ACT and Hardly Working Promotions presented “Triple Bypass” as an online-only production during the theater’s pandemic shutdown.
“Triple Bypass” was “Most Viewed Show” at Elgin Virtual Winter Mini Fest and won the “Spirit of Fringe-Never in a Box” award and the “Producers’ Award” at Front Row Fringe.
*Please note, this production is recommended for mature audiences. Elements of the content portray scenarios such as abuse, illness and addiction which may be disturbing to some audience members.
