Mural Brightens Sixth Avenue

Local artists Nick and Nicole Fischer have undertaken their largest outdoor mural yet to keep a piece of summer year-round in Aberdeen. The painting is on the west side of the Woodman Refrigeration building. Driving east along Sixth Avenue, you can’t miss the billowing umbrellas, colorful streamers, smiling dog in sunglasses, and flowers blowing in the breeze. Acknowledging the work Woodmans does in the Aberdeen area, the painting portrays a fan keeping everything nice and cool on a hot summer’s day. People are welcome to stop and view the mural and even take their photo with it. The Aberdeen Area Arts Council commissioned the project. // – Jenny Roth
