Weddings Are Your Vendors ‘The One’ for You? Here are just a handful of the questions you should ask vendors before signing a contractPhotos courtesy of Abby Brick Photography By Josie Clemens Are Your Vendors ‘The One’ for You? The Basics Do you have our wedding date available? How do you price your wedding services? What is your payment/deposit procedure and cancellation policy? Is there anything we should know that we haven’t talked about? Venues Is there a contingency plan for an outdoor venue in case it rains? How many people does the space accommodate? What kinds of services do you offer? What are the restrictions? (musician/DJ, external rentals and vendors, decorations, etc.) What hours does the rental cover and what time can other vendors start preparations? Who is in charge of the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of the venue? Are there any noise restrictions? Photographers What types of wedding photography packages do you offer? Have you photographed at my venue before? Do you have a back-up plan if you get sick or have an emergency and can’t photograph my wedding? How and when will I be able to review the proofs? How many photographers will cover my wedding? What is your primary style? Can I view a full album from a wedding you have previously photographed? Caterers How much time will you need for set-up and clean-up at our venue? How much space will you need at the venue? Do you charge a bulk fee or is it cost per person? Is there vegetarian, gluten, and dairy free options available for guests? (if needed) When will you need a final headcount? What are the portion sizes? What do you do with leftovers? Music and Entertainment Can you play the songs that are important to us? Do you plan to use lighting or any other special effects? How many hours are included in the package? What’s your backup plan if there’s equipment malfunction? Do you use pre-determined set lists or do you take requests? Have you done events at my wedding venue before? How extensive is your song list? What genres can you cover? Florists How would you describe your design style? Can I see photographs or live examples of your work? Will you be responsible for communicating with my venue about any restrictions they may have with decor and installation? Who will handle setup, delivery, and breakdown and how long will you need for both? What happens to the flowers after the wedding? Can you create sample arrangements? What other decor elements can you provide? Are they rentals? Back Share
